누군가나 무언가를 매우 강하게 싫어하거나 증오하는 것.

'detest'는 'hate'보다 더 공식적이고 강한 표현입니다. 일상 회화에서는 드물고, 명사나 동명사와 함께 자주 사용됩니다: 'detests broccoli', 'detests being late'. 약한 싫어함에는 사용하지 않습니다.

She detests hot weather.
