誰かや何かをとても強く嫌うこと。非常に嫌悪する気持ち。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
"detest"はフォーマルで強い意味があり、"hate"よりも強調する時に使われます。日常会話ではあまり使いません。「detests broccoli」や「detests being late」のように名詞や動詞-ingの形でよく使われます。軽い嫌いには使いません。
