脱走兵とは、許可なく軍隊や組織、義務から逃げ出した人々を指します。特に兵士に多く使われます。

主に軍事用語として使われますが、他の責任や集団を離れた人にも使います。否定的な意味合いがあります。「desert」（砂漠）とは発音も意味も異なります。
