頼る依存する次第である

Definition

誰かや何かに助けや支えを求めて頼ること。また、ある状況や結果が何かの条件に左右されることも指す。

'depend on'は「〜に頼る」や「〜次第である」と訳され、人物や条件どちらにも使える。'depend of'という使い方はしない。

Some children depend on their parents for money.

子どもによっては親にお金を**頼っている**ことがある。

Plants depend on water and sunlight.

植物は水と日光に**依存しています**。

Our trip will depend on the weather.
