製品や楽曲などの完成前に、その内容をお試しできる体験版やサンプル録音のこと。正式なものを出す前に使われます。

「デモ」はITや音楽業界でよく使われます（「ゲームデモ」「音楽デモ」など）。正式なプレゼンや学術的な場面ではあまり使いません。音楽ではラフ録音の意味が強いです。
