유기물이 박테리아 등 자연적 과정으로 인해 완전히 또는 부분적으로 분해되거나 썩은 상태를 의미합니다.

주로 죽은 동식물이나 음식이 자연적으로 썩거나 분해될 때 사용됩니다. 기계적 고장에는 쓰지 않습니다.
