Definition

嚢胞とは、体内にできる液体や空気などを含んだ閉じた袋状の構造です。臓器や組織にでき、無害な場合もあれば治療が必要な場合もあります。

医療用語として使われることが多い単語です。「卵巣嚢胞」「皮下嚢胞」など特定の部位と組み合わせて使われます。「腫瘍」とは異なり、嚢胞の多くは良性ですが、医師による診断が重要です。
