Definition

戸棚は扉と棚が付いた家具で、食器や食べ物、衣類などを収納するために使います。特にキッチンや部屋に備え付けられている収納スペースを指します。

「cupboards」はイギリス英語でよく使われ、アメリカ英語では「cabinets」が一般的です。特に「kitchen cupboards」（キッチンの戸棚）などとよく使われます。「closet」（洋服ダンス）、「drawer」（引き出し）と混同しないようにしましょう。
