Definition

積雲は、白くて大きく、もこもこした雲で、底が平らで上が丸い形をしています。たいてい晴れた日に見られますが、大きくなれば雨雲になることもあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「積雲」は主に理科や気象の場で使います。雨雲や暗い雲は「乱層雲」「積乱雲」と区別されます。「cumulus clouds」は「積雲」で複数形の場合も同じ表現です。
