Definition

細長くて緑色の野菜で、味はあっさりしていて、主に生でサラダに使われたり漬物に使われます。

通常は生野菜（新鮮なきゅうり）を指し、漬物（ピクルス）とは異なります。「きゅうり」は複数でもそのままですが、複数本を表したいときは「きゅうりを〜本」など数をつけます。
