무언가가 눌리거나 낡아서 작은 조각으로 흩어짐. 추상적인 것, 예를 들어 조직이나 자신감이 무너지는 데도 사용됨.

주로 빵, 벽 등 실제 물체가 부서질 때 쓰이나, 자신감이나 조직 등이 '무너질 때'에도 쓸 수 있다. 'crumpled'(구겨진)과 구분할 것.
