국가 내에서 각각의 지방 정부를 가진, 보통 도시나 마을보다 큰 행정 구역을 말합니다.

'카운티'는 주로 미국, 영국, 아일랜드에서 사용하는 행정 구역 명칭입니다. 한국의 '군' 또는 '구'와 비슷할 수 있습니다. 'country'(국가)와 혼동하지 마세요. 'county government'는 지방 정부를 의미합니다.
