Definition
Adli tabip, özellikle ani, şüpheli veya şiddet içerikli ölümleri inceleyen kamu görevlisidir. Bazı yerlerde ölüm sebebini resmî olarak belirleme yetkisine sahiptir.
Usage Notes (Turkish)
Kelime hukuki, tıbbi ve haber metinlerinde sıkça geçer. ‘coroner’ ile ‘medical examiner’ kavramları her ülkede aynı olmayabilir, bu yüzden karıştırmayın. 'coroner raporu' ve 'coroner şu şekilde karar verdi...' gibi ifadelerde kullanılır.
