मुख्यतः व्यापारिक या कानूनी संदर्भ में प्रयोग होता है। आम तौर पर 'contract out services' या 'contract out work' के साथ आता है। कभी-कभी 'to' के साथ प्रयोग ('contract out to another company')। रोज़मर्रा के कामों के लिए नहीं, औपचारिक समझौते के लिए प्रयुक्त होता है।
