Definition
Bekçi veya polis memuru (alt rütbe) kamu düzenini sağlamak ve yasaları uygulamakla görevli, genellikle polisin en alt rütbesindeki görevlidir.
Usage Notes (Turkish)
'Constable' terimi genellikle İngiltere ve İngiliz Milletler Topluluğu'nda alt rütbeli polisler için kullanılır. Amerika'da nadir ve genelde törensel veya tarihi anlama sahiptir. 'police constable' ve 'station constable' gibi kullanımlar yaygındır; 'officer' (daha üst rütbe) ile karıştırmayın.
