数人が秘密裏に有害または違法なことを企てる計画や、そのような秘密計画が存在すると信じること。

たいてい犯罪や社会的に悪い目的で使われます。「conspiracy theories（陰謀論）」は隠れた組織が世界を操るという信念を指します。'cooperation'（協力）とは違い、秘密で否定的な意味を持ちます。
