Definition

혼란, 당혹 또는 이해하기 어려움을 유발하는 것. 과학이나 연구에서는 결과 해석을 어렵게 만드는 요인을 의미한다.

'confounding variable' 같이 과학적, 학술적 맥락에 자주 쓰임. 일상 대화에서는 거의 사용하지 않음.

The math problem was confounding to the entire class.

그 수학 문제는 모든 학생들에게 **혼란스러웠다**.
