堆肥

Definition

堆肥は枯れた植物や食べ物の残りを腐らせて作る混合物で、土壌を良くし、植物を育てるために使います。

園芸や農業でよく使われる言葉です。「compost bin（コンポスト容器）」や「compostを作る」などの表現があります。化学肥料（fertilizer）とは異なり、主に自然由来のものです。
