誰かの良い行いや業績を公式に称賛したり認めたりすること。まれに何かに推薦する意味でも使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「commended」は公式な場や賞状、推薦状などで使われ、日常会話ではあまり使われません。「commended for bravery」や「commended to the board」のように使われます。
