"comb out" in Japanese
Definition
くしで髪や動物の毛のもつれや不要なものを丁寧に取り除くこと。また、何かを徹底的に探したり調べたりすることも意味します。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
髪や毛のもつれを解くときによく使われるが（'comb out knots'）、何かを徹底的に探す意味でも使う（'comb out the evidence'）。ほぼ必ず目的語が必要。'comb through'とは少し違い、もう少し物理的な意味が強い。
