Definition

牛は、肉や牛乳、その他の製品を得るために農場で飼われるウシ全般を指します。通常、集団の動物について使います。

「cattle」は単数形としては使いません。一頭の場合は「牛」「雄牛」「子牛」と言います。「cattle farm」「cattle market」などの表現があります。

The cattle are near the river.

**牛**は川の近くにいます。

My uncle raises cattle on his farm.

叔父は農場で**牛**を飼っています。

We saw cattle behind the fence.

私たちは柵の向こうに**牛**を見ました。
