Definition

カーペットは、厚くて柔らかい素材で作られた床を覆うものです。部屋全体や広い部分に敷かれます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

日常会話では「カーペット」は部屋全体や広い床を覆う場合が多いです。小さいものは「ラグ」と呼びます。「carpet cleaner」「carpet stain」「red carpet」などの表現で使われます。「on the carpet」は叱責されることを意味します。
