Definition

ワインや果汁を蒸留して作られるアルコール度数の高いお酒で、多くは木の樽で熟成されます。食後や寒い時期に少量ずつ飲まれることが多いです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

通常は数えられない名詞で、「some brandy」のように使い、「a brandy」は一杯分を指します。「a glass of brandy」「brandy bottle」「brandy and soda」などの表現が多いです。「コニャック」はブランデーの一種です。
