Definition

부주의하거나 서툴러서 어떤 일을 잘못하거나 실패하게 만드는 것.

보통 부정적인 의미로 쓰이며, 부주의나 서툼으로 실수할 때 사용한다. 'botch a job/task'처럼 활용. 일부러 실수하는 상황에는 쓰지 않음.

He always botches the simple tasks at work.

그는 회사에서 간단한 일도 항상 **망친다**.

She botches her homework when she is in a hurry.

급할 때 그녀는 숙제를 **엉망으로 한다**.

If he botches the repair, the machine will break again.
