Definition

都会から離れた、便利さがない田舎や辺鄙な場所を指すとてもくだけた表現です。

とてもカジュアルで少し馬鹿にした響きもあり、『the boonies』のようにtheと一緒に使われます。フォーマルな場面では使いません。

My grandparents live out in the boonies.
