Definition

屋外で行事や集まりの際に焚かれる大きなたき火。暖をとったり、お祝いのために使われることが多い。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

複数形で使われることが多く、お祭りやイベントを連想させます。「たき火」は個人の小さなものも指しますが、大きなもの、みんなで囲む場合「bonfires」に該当します。
