封鎖

Definition

封鎖とは、軍事や抗議などを目的として、人や物資の出入りを止める行動です。

「blockades」は主に軍事や抗議活動に関連して使われます。「naval blockades」や「economic blockades」など。物理的な障害物（barrier）や一時的な中断（stoppage）とは異なり、フォーマルな文脈で使われることが多い単語です。

There were several blockades on the main road during the protest.
