靴やブーツを黒くて光沢のある状態にするために使うクリームやペースト。物を黒くするために塗る行為自体を指すこともあります。

現在はほとんど使われず、主に昔の文学や歴史的な内容で見かけます。現代日本語では「靴クリーム」や「靴墨」と言われます。
