텐트 없이 간단한 쉼터만으로 야외에서 잠시 머물거나 밤을 보내는 것. 주로 군대나 생존 상황, 하이킹에서 사용됨.

일상보다는 문어체, 군사, 생존, 또는 등산에 쓰임. '캠핑'과 달리 매우 간소한 환경임을 강조함.
