Definition
Tentar morder algo, muitas vezes sem conseguir, ou apenas dando um bote rápido com os dentes. Também pode significar mostrar interesse de forma breve ou hesitante.

Geralmente literal para animais ou pequenas mordidas (em comida, objetos). No sentido figurado, pode ser usado para demonstrar interesse breve ('bite at a chance'). Não é muito usado para pessoas, exceto em sentido metafórico.
