"Belie" es formal y se usa mucho en textos o habla cuidada. Describe cuando una apariencia, expresión o comportamiento oculta la realidad. Ejemplo: "Her calm belied her nerves." No significa "mentir". Normalmente va seguido de un sustantivo.
