أن تكون في موقف صعب أو إشكالي، خاصة إذا كان من الصعب الهروب منه أو تحسينه.

هذا التعبير غير رسمي، يُستخدم عندما يكون الشخص في مشكلة أو وضع غير ملائم، وغالباً ما يكون مفاجئًا. يُستعمل مع كلمات مثل 'feel' أو 'find oneself'. أصله من لعبة البلياردو وليس له معنى حرفي.
