어려운 문제나 강한 상대를 이기기 위해 열심히 싸우는 것. 실제 전쟁이나 비유적으로도 쓴다.

'battle against'는 전쟁이나 스포츠에 문자 그대로 쓰이고, 질병·습관·부정의와 같은 비유적 상황에도 사용된다. 'fight against'보다 더 격식 있는 표현이다.
