バックボードはバスケットボールのゴールの後ろにある平らな板、または救護の際に背中や脊椎を固定するために使う固い板のことです。

スポーツでは「バックボード」はほとんどバスケットボール用を指します。医療では脊椎を固定する救護用の板を指します。一般的な板には使わないでください。
