Definition

안 좋은 일이 일어나지 않도록 막거나, 특히 눈이나 얼굴을 다른 곳으로 돌리는 것이다.

공식적이고 주로 '위기 예방', '재난 방지'와 같이 부정적인 사건에 사용함. 사람을 피할 때는 안 씀. 'avert your eyes'는 시선을 돌리다.
