指在船尾或朝船尾的方向。在船只倒退时也用这个词。

这是航海和技术用语，几乎只在航海或船舶操作时使用。常与“move”、“fall”等动词搭配，并出现在“dead astern”（正后方）这样的短语中。不要混淆为普通的“后面”。
