上の場所や地位に移動したこと。実際に登る場合や、立場が上がる場合にも使う。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
文語や物語、歴史的な文脈で使われることが多く、会話ではあまり使われません。「ascended the throne」は「王位に就いた」と訳されます。
