উপরে চলে গিয়েছে অথবা উন্নত অবস্থানে পৌঁছেছে। শারীরিক বা প্রতীকি, দুই ভাবেই ব্যবহার হয়।

'ascended' সাধারণত সাহিত্যিক বা আনুষ্ঠানিক প্রসঙ্গে ব্যবহৃত হয়; 'ascended the throne' বলতে বুঝায় 'সিংহাসনে আরোহণ'।
