箱舟（はこぶね）

Definition

「arks」は「ark」の複数形で、特に聖書のノアの箱舟のような大きく特別に作られた船を指します。また、聖なるものや貴重なものを入れる箱という意味もあります。

主に宗教的・歴史的な場面で使われ、「ノアの箱舟」などが典型例です。日常会話ではあまり使われません。『アーク』は「アーチ」や「アーク（弧）」とは意味が異なります。
