কারো দেশের, এলাকার বা অঞ্চলের ওপর নিয়ন্ত্রণ নিয়ে সেটিকে অন্য দেশের বা রাজ্যের অংশ করে নেওয়া। সাধারণত বলপ্রয়োগ বা কোনো চুক্তির মাধ্যমে হয়।
