'প্রাচীনরা' বলতে বহু বছর আগে বসবাস করেছিল এমন জনগোষ্ঠী ও সভ্যতাকে বোঝায়, বিশেষভাবে ইতিহাস বা প্রাগৈতিহাসিক যুগের মানুষ।

মূলত ঐতিহাসিক বা প্রাচীন সভ্যতার আলোচনায় ব্যবহৃত হয়। নির্দিষ্ট পূর্বপুরুষ নয়, বরং সম্পূর্ণ জনগোষ্ঠী বা সংস্কৃতি বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত।
