歩くことができる、または歩行に関すること。入院せずに受けられる医療や施設も指す。

医療や学術でよく使われます。「ambulatory patient」は歩ける患者、「ambulatory care」は外来治療という意味です。『ambulance』とは意味が違うので注意。
