धार्मिक अनुष्ठानों में प्रयुक्त एक उठी हुई संरचना या मेज, जिसे अक्सर चढ़ावों, प्रार्थनाओं या रस्मों के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जाता है।
Usage Notes (Hindi)
अधिकतर धार्मिक या समारोह के संदर्भ में प्रयोग होता है—मंदिर, चर्च, विवाह आदि। आम मेज़ के लिए नहीं। कभी-कभी रूपक में भी ('...की वेदी पर बलिदान देना')।
