Definition

時間やお金、仕事などを特定の人や目的に一定量配分すること。

ビジネスや公的な場面でよく使われます。'allot time', 'allot money'などの形が一般的。「allow」（許可する）とは意味が違います。名詞形は'allotment'（割り当て）。

The teacher will allot ten minutes for the test.
