Definition

錬金術は、卑金属を金に変えることや万能薬を探すことを目的とした古代の学問です。現代では、不思議な変化や魔法のような力を例えるときにも使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

錬金術は歴史的・文学的な文脈で多く使われます。比喩的に 'the alchemy of love' のように神秘的な変化を表す場合もあります。現代の化学には使いません。
