أن تقرّ بأن شيئًا ما صحيح أو حقيقي أو موجود. ويمكن أن يعني أيضًا أن تُظهر أنك لاحظت شخصًا أو شيئًا، أو أن تؤكد أنك استلمت شيئًا ما.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

تُستعمل هذه الكلمة كثيرًا في الكلام والكتابة الرسميين أو الدقيقين. من التراكيب الشائعة: 'acknowledge a problem' و 'acknowledge receipt' و 'acknowledge someone’s help'. وهي أقوى وأكثر قصدًا من 'notice'، وأكثر حيادًا من 'admit' التي غالبًا ما توحي بالتردد أو بالاعتراف بالذنب.
