横に並んでいること、または最新の情報を知っている状態のこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「keep abreast of」は「最新情報を把握する」という意味でよく使う。「a breast」と混同しないように注意。人や物が横一列に並ぶ状況にも使われる。
