「abides」とは、規則や法律を守る、何かを受け入れる、または存在し続けることを意味します。主にフォーマルや文語で使われます。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
法律・宗教・文学的な文脈で使われます。「abides by the rules」は「規則を守る」、「abides in ～」は「～にとどまる」という意味。日常会話ではあまり使われません。
