用於表示某物不夠，或意思是「幾乎但還沒到」。通常表達差一點點或接近目標但未達到。

Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))

常出現在日常口語和書面語裡。後面常接名詞，如「short of money（缺錢）」、「short of time（缺時間）」。也可以表示「差一點」。不要和「short on」混淆，後者較為口語。
