달걀, 견과류, 조개 등과 같은 것의 딱딱한 바깥 부분 또는 물건의 외부 케이스를 의미합니다.

'seashell'은 조개껍데기, 'egg shell'은 달걀껍질입니다. 물건의 경우 'outer shell', 'protective shell'처럼 사용합니다. 'skin'(피부, 껍질)과는 달리 딱딱한 것이 일반적입니다.
